Hunger: A Cause of Global Instability

Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme
Ertharin Cousin delivered the final Global Futures lecture of the semester on the topic of global security.

Her remarks explored the vicious cycle of conflict, climate change, and hunger—with examples from the World Food Programme's work to provide immediate life-saving humanitarian assistance as well as longer-term solutions to hunger and malnutrition.  A key excerpt from her lecture is posted below.

Georgetown faculty, students, and scholars around the world offer their responses to Ms. Cousin's remarks. All are welcome to join the conversation using the commenting feature.
