Jim Yong Kim, president of the World Bank Group, returned to Georgetown March 18 to deliver a second lecture as part of a semester-long conversation on “The Global Future of Development” convened by Georgetown’s new Global Futures Initiative.

Kim explained why climate change is a poverty issue and described key elements of an economic transformation plan to keep the rise in global temperatures below two degrees Celsius.

This event was sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Global Engagement and the Office of the President.

Jim Yong Kim is the twelfth president of the World Bank Group and the former president of Dartmouth College.
